Description
Organic Omega-3 Plant-Based 90 Capsules from sanitation, are unsaturated fatty acids and perform important functions in the body. They belong in every healthy, wholesome diet. One representative of this group is alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). The oil from perilla seeds contains a lot of this valuable fatty acid. For us, the ripe seeds are gently and cold-pressed and filled pure into cellulose capsules. This is something special, because until now oils were filled into gelatin capsules or into a complexly manufactured corn-based capsule using carrageenan. Thanks to the new process, we can now pack the high-quality organic perilla oil safely and well protected in a pure cellulose capsule.
Perilla is a member of the Lamiaceae family, also known as shiso or red shiso. This herb is indispensable in Japanese cuisine. The seeds of the species Perilla frutescens consist of around 40% fat and are characterized by their high content of the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid.
Scientifically, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is found in plant-based foods and fats, is also one of the omega-3 fatty acids. Alpha-linolenic acid, which is found in rapeseed, wild sesame, walnuts and linseed oil, is a vital fatty acid that can be converted in the body via a series of complicated reaction steps into the biologically higher omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA.

Taiga Eco Ratings
This product scores highly in at least 25% of our sustainable packaging features and therefore meets our requirements for sustainable packaging. The packaging of a product has a major impact on the environment. If the product has packaging, we therefore carefully check whether it is made from recycled materials and/or is itself recyclable. Plastic-free packaging and packaging that can be returned to a reusable system or that stands out due to its particularly intelligent and sustainable packaging design perform better with us.
Unfortunately, this product does not score highly in any of our features for environmentally friendly use. That does not mean that the product is not sustainable in general, but we believe there is potential for greater sustainability in the area of use. A product also has an impact on the environment during use. That is why we look at whether you can save resources such as energy, water or materials with the product. It is also important to us whether a product is repairable, durable and/or refillable.
This product scores highly in at least 50% of our sustainable materials criteria, making it particularly sustainable. Sustainability starts with the materials. That's why when evaluating this criterion, we look closely at whether the product is made of natural, recycled or recyclable materials and whether it is petroleum-free or plastic-free. We also pay attention to whether the materials are grown locally and organically.
This product scores highly in at least 50% of our sustainable manufacturing criteria, making it particularly sustainable. Manufacturing is an essential step in the life cycle of a product. This includes whether a product is manufactured without animal testing or the use of critical substances such as genetically modified plants or palm oil. We also examine whether it is produced locally and in a CO2-neutral manner. We also check whether social sustainability, such as fair pay, is taken into account during production.
Unfortunately, this product does not score highly in any of our criteria for sustainable recyclability. This does not mean that the product is not sustainable in general, but in our view there is potential for greater sustainability in the area of curly-runnability. A major challenge for sustainability is the integration of products into the biological and technical cycle. It is important here whether a product is recyclable, biodegradable or compostable industrially or at home. We also view it positively if the manufacturer offers a return system for the product and returns it back into the cycle itself. Unfortunately, this product does not score highly in any of our criteria for comprehensive recyclability.
