Description
The güde The 26 cm sharpening steel from the Alpha Birne series is the perfect tool for maintaining the sharpness of your Güde knives. With a blade length of 26 cm made of alloyed chrome-vanadium tool steel, it offers a durable and rust-free solution for regularly sharpening the blades. The sharpening steel helps to straighten the thinly ground cutting edge so that it retains its optimal sharpness.
The hand-forged blade has a medium-fine grind surface, which is ideal for household and kitchen knives. The handle made of velvety pear wood ensures comfortable handling and is triple riveted, which offers additional stability.
Please note that Güde knives with wooden handles do not belong in the dishwasher. With the Güde sharpening steel, caring for your knives is child's play and you can always count on them being sharp.

That's why we look at whether you can save resources such as energy, water or materials with the product. It is also important to us whether a product is repairable, durable and/or refillable.
This product scores highly in at least 25% of our sustainable materials criteria and therefore meets our requirements for sustainable materials. Sustainability starts with the materials. That's why, when evaluating this criterion, we look closely at whether the product is made of natural or recycled or recyclable materials and whether it is petroleum- or plastic-free. We also pay attention to whether the materials are grown locally and organically.
This product scores highly in at least 50% of our sustainable manufacturing criteria, making it particularly sustainable. Manufacturing is an essential step in the life cycle of a product. This includes whether a product is manufactured without animal testing or the use of critical substances such as genetically modified plants or palm oil. We also examine whether it is produced locally and in a CO2-neutral manner. We also check whether social sustainability, such as fair pay, is taken into account during production.
This product scores highly in at least 25% of our features for comprehensive recyclability and therefore meets our requirements for sustainable recyclability. A major challenge for sustainability is the integration of products into the biological and technical cycle. It is important here whether a product is recyclable, biodegradable or compostable industrially or at home. We also view it positively if the manufacturer offers a return system for the product and returns it back into the cycle themselves.
